This summer, I introduced my Phys. Ed. students to an exercise video (which my parents had sent me with a not-too-subtle hint). I teach P.E. to grade 8 & 9 girls. As we participated in the activities, the girls were convinced they were being watched. Surely the women exercising on the video also somehow had a camera connection to us exercising. The lead model, the main woman demonstrating the exercises, would say, “You’re doing great, ladies!” And the learners would say, “She’s watching us!! Miss, can she see us?”
“No, she can’t see you.”
“But how did she know we were all ladies?”
Just a good guess, I suppose. Perhaps it’s a universal cultural thing that only women are ridiculous enough to do indoor exercising videos.

I have another one they might like that you could bring back with you in January.
I too often feel like I am being watched. But then when I take my medicine it goes away. I think.
I wondered if you noticed….
Hey, stop looking at me. Mom! Heather’s looking at me again.
My favorite indoor walking/exercise guru is Leslie Sansone; I use her tapes in the winter when it is too risky to walk outdoors. I like her because she has the class mirror her actions, she never says left or right, she points in the direction of a movement, she slaps or otherwise indicates which leg is to be moved, she gives advance notice of moves, her counting is consistent, and the moves are simple.
I see 1 or 2 of the girls may have the same problem with left and right as I do.
LOVE this! So funny. Wish I pictures of my kids doing exercise videos w/me – Keep up the good work sista!
